Public Exhibitions
Since its inception in 1977, the Black Heritage Society has presented and loaned exhibit material for public and private events and organizations. The lack of exhibit material relating to the local African-American experience has prompted schools, private enterprises, and public utilities to call on the Society for such displays.
Every year the Society participates in the celebration of Black History Month. Traditionally, it has presented a pictorial display at the Douglass-Truth Public Library and at MOHAI. The Society also displays a Community Service table at the Festival Sundiata held at the Seattle Center.
